Mark Atkinson
Chief Executive Officer
Mark Atkinson has been Chief Executive Officer of Teachscape since July 1999. Prior to founding Teachscape, Mr. Atkinson was a network news producer with extensive experience in reporting, producing, and directing network news documentaries. He was Senior Producer and Manager of New Markets for CBS News Productions, where he developed new business opportunities, focusing on multimedia production and the education market. In his role as Senior Producer, CBS News Productions, he directed the production of The 20th Century with Mike Wallace, a nightly one-hour nonfiction television series for The History Channel. Prior to joining CBS, he was a producer for Peter Jennings Reporting, ABC News, where he produced network news specials for Mr. Jennings. A graduate of Yale University, Mr. Atkinson is a trustee of the Oracle Education Foundation.

Linda Auman
Executive Vice President, Education Initiatives
Linda Auman coordinates Teachscape's outreach efforts to key clients and partners. Prior to joining Teachscape, Ms. Auman led a dramatic change initiative to close the gap in student achievement at the Springdale School District in Springdale, Arkansas, where she also served the dual roles of Director of Guidance and Director of Career and Technology Education. Ms. Auman's work there resulted in numerous state and national awards, as well as a statewide professional development initiative. While at Springdale, she directed the implementation of district-wide Competency Based Guidance, Algebra/Geometry for All, and Career Action Planning, all of which have received national recognition.

Gwen Baker
Vice President, Methodology & Evaluation
Gwen Baker is responsible for defining methods of engagement that maximize the value delivered to Teachscape customers. The Methods and Quality group identifies metrics to measure value and manages the continuous improvement strategy that allows the company to gather and respond to customer feedback. Previously, Ms. Baker led Teachscape's Teaching and Learning Department and oversaw the design and development of the online learning products. Prior to joining Teachscape, Ms. Baker spent eight years at Accenture, the world's leading management consulting and technology firm, where she managed the design and development of e-learning applications for clients in many industries. As an Accenture fellow, Ms. Baker attended the Institute for the Learning Sciences at Northwestern University, where she earned her master's degree in Learning Sciences. Ms. Baker also holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Communication, with an emphasis on Instructional Design, from Ithaca College.

Evan Eustace
Vice President, Technology
Evan Eustace has enjoyed being at the cutting edge of Internet development since 1995. He joined Teachscape as Director of Software Engineering in 2001. Previously, he had been Director of Technology at Village Ventures, a venture capital company, where his role was evaluating the viability of technology being developed by prospective portfolio companies and directing the development of software systems for the company. In an earlier role, Mr. Eustace was Director of Software Engineering for CBS.com, where he managed a large team of developers who implemented the Web presence for CBS and its affiliates, serving millions of Web consumers. Prior to that, as Technical Producer at HarperCollins publishers, he created HarperCollins.com and sister sites, pioneered the development of book industry Internet data exchange methodologies with online retailers, and managed the technical production team.

Jeff Glasse
Vice President, Strategic Software Initiatives
Jeff Glasse is a seasoned multimedia producer who has produced video and interactive projects for such diverse clients as Apple Computer, ESPN, The Carter Center, SmithKline Beecham, and the University of Pennsylvania. He is founder of DIGIT New Media, Inc., an award-winning museum and documentary production company. A regular partner with the world's leading museum design firms, DIGIT has produced programming for institutions ranging from the American Museum of Natural History and The Franklin Institute to The Virginia Civil War Center. A Princeton University graduate, and a recognized authority on digital content development, Mr. Glasse has contributed regularly to MacWEEK and eMediaWeekly magazines and taught graduate courses at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Mr. Glasse was also a chief architect of Cubist Post & Effects, one of the most successful post-production facilities in Philadelphia.

Louis M. Gomez
Vice President, Teaching & Learning Development
In addition to his position at Teachscape, Dr. Gomez is Aon Professor of Learning Sciences and Professor of Computer Science at Northwestern University. At Northwestern, he co-directs the National Science Foundation-sponsored Center for Learning Technologies in Urban Schools, a partnership of the Chicago Public Schools, Detroit Public Schools, University of Michigan, and Northwestern. The center supports urban schools in providing opportunities for children to engage in ambitious inquiry in science classrooms with today's state-of-the-art technology. Previously, Dr. Gomez was Director of Human-Computer Systems Research at Bellcore in Morristown, NJ. He earned his B.A. degree in Psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology at UC Berkeley.

Melissa Jaivin
Vice President, Higher Education
Melissa Jaivin is responsible for developing a new area of business at Teachscape: graduate courses and master's degrees, offered in partnership with accredited universities nationwide. These offerings enable districts to create customized programs of study linking district goals to teachers' professional development. Formerly, Ms. Jaivin worked for Online Higher Education, one of the fastest-growing divisions of Laureate Education, Inc. (formerly Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc.), which consists of Canter & Associates, OnlineLearning.net, WebEd, and Walden University. During her 13-year tenure at Laureate, Ms. Jaivin was responsible for marketing, recruitment, and operations of the Graduate Programs Division, which included seven master's degrees offered via distance learning (online and face-to-face models), and enrollments of more than 20,000 K–12 educators. Earlier in her career, the Brown University graduate was an executive at Bank of Boston (Society for Savings), Pacific Southwest Savings Bank, and Prentice-Hall Publishers.

Mike Johanek
Vice President, Professional Services
As Vice President of Professional Services, Dr. Johanek manages all service engagements. He is the former Executive Director for K–12 Professional Development at The College Board, where he founded, developed, and managed a 25-person department with responsibilities that included new product development, in-person training, Web services, electronic and print publications, regional office operational support, marketing, and research. A former high school teacher in the United States and Peru, Dr. Johanek managed the Fellows in Teaching Program at Teachers College, Columbia University, prior to joining The College Board. His publications include Leonard Covello and the Making of Benjamin Franklin High School (Temple University Press, 2006); A Faithful Mirror: Reflections on the College Board and Education in America (ed., College Board, 2001); and many articles. An occasional adjunct professor at the Steinhardt School of Education, New York University, Dr. Johanek currently serves on a U.S. Department of Education working group for college readiness, and recently served on the Annenberg Commission on Public Schools.

Hae Yung Kim
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Hae Yung Kim is responsible for setting Teachscape's overall strategic direction in marketing, positioning, and branding. Most recently, she was Vice President of Teacher Continuing Education Programs at Canter & Associates, a division of Laureate Education, Inc. (formerly Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc.). In that capacity, she was responsible for the P&L of all continuing education businesses, including the individual graduate course business, which is the largest in the country, enrolling nearly 40,000 teachers annually. Prior to joining Canter, Ms. Kim was in charge of marketing communications at JobTRAK (now MonsterTRAK), the largest online job listing site for colleges and universities, serving nearly 1,000 campuses. She also served as Director of Network Services at Channel One Network. Ms. Kim began her career at the UCLA Alumni Association upon graduation from UCLA.

Maryann Marrapodi
Executive Vice President, Education Programs
Maryann Marrapodi is responsible for ensuring the development and alignment of Teachscape's strategic initiatives. Most recently, Ms. Marrapodi was a senior partner in Collaborative Ventures, where she worked with government organizations to develop and evaluate human services policies and programs. Prior to that, she served as Director of the New York Mayor's Office of Early Childhood Services, where she was responsible for coordinating the efforts of all city agencies providing education and comprehensive services to preschool children and their families. As part of her work in education, Ms. Marrapodi developed programs and policies to promote teaching and learning of mathematics, science, and technology for the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and for the New York City Department of Education, where she served as a teacher, director of a magnet junior high school, Director of Curriculum, and Special Assistant to the Schools Chancellor. She holds master's degrees from the City College of New York; the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Teachers College, Columbia University.

Pam McLaughlin
Controller
Prior to joining Teachscape, Pam McLaughlin was the Corporate Controller for Vialta, Inc., a start-up company established to develop, design, and market consumer electronics products, where she managed the company's finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, audit, and SEC reporting. Before joining Vialta, Ms. McLaughlin was a Corporate Controller for DIVA Systems Corporation, a start-up company established to design, develop, and market video-on-demand products and services for the cable television industry, where she established, staffed, and managed the company's finance and accounting, facilities, and purchasing departments. Prior to Diva, Ms. McLaughlin was the Director of Accounting and Finance for Starsight Telecast, Inc., a start-up company established to design and market a patented on-screen interactive television guide and VCR control service, where she established and staffed the company's finance and accounting department, developed and managed budget processes, and assisted in the IPO and preparation of the SEC reports.

Mary Ramsden
Director of Human Resources & Administration
Mary Ramsden joined Teachscape in November 2005, bringing more than 14 years' experience in the Human Resources and Administration fields. Most recently, Ms. Ramsden was Director, Human Resources & Administration at Vialta, Inc., an international consumer electronics company. Prior to Vialta, she was Senior Manager of Human Resources, Administration, and Facilities at iLux Corporation, producers of work flow software applications. Ms. Ramsden's previous positions include significant experience in real estate administration. Prior to relocating to the United States from England, she accumulated more than 10 years' experience in personnel and administrative roles at various organizations, including Lloyds Bank in Cambridge. Ms. Ramsden attended secretarial college at Cambridge College of Arts & Technology.

Bill Scharninghausen
Chief Financial Officer
Bill Scharninghausen has been Chief Financial Officer since November 2005. Before joining Teachscape, Mr. Scharninghausen was Chief Financial Officer at Vialta, Inc., a publicly traded company in the consumer electronics industry. Prior to Vialta, Mr. Scharninghausen served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for DIVA Systems Corporation, an emerging digital video-on-demand company. Mr. Scharninghausen provided DIVA with financial leadership and direction to help grow the company to over 300 employees and more than 700,000 subscribers through its cable partners. As Chief Accounting Officer and Controller for StarSight Telecast in the early to mid-nineties, Mr. Scharninghausen was a leader in the company's $50 million IPO and played a significant role in the company's merger with Gemstar-TV Guide. Prior to StarSight Telecast, Mr. Scharninghausen held management positions at LucasFilm, Orion Pictures, and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. He holds a B.S. in Business from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.

Mike Soules
Vice President, Business Development
Mike Soules is responsible for the development of new business opportunities for Teachscape. For six years he was Vice President, Business Development, for Online Higher Education, one of the fastest-growing divisions of Laureate Education, Inc. (formerly Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc.), which consists of Canter & Associates, OnlineLearning.net, WebEd, and Walden University. Mr. Soules was charged with district sales/marketing, building strong relationships with state and national education associations and trade groups, as well as competitor and acquisition analysis for the division. After graduating from UCLA, he began his career in television programming at Twentieth Century Fox, and then spent nearly seven years at Channel One Network, where he was responsible for the creation and/or oversight of several new operating units.

Cheryl Williams
Vice President, Conferences
Cheryl Williams has a strong background in the nonprofit sector and education reform and is a frequent speaker at national and state programs. Prior to joining Teachscape, she was Vice President for Education at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Ms. Williams spent 14 years with the National School Boards Association (NSBA), developing membership and establishing partnerships with other national organizations, corporations, and government agencies to further the use of technology in public schools. As Manager of NSBA's Technology Network, she ran a national conference for school technology decision makers, which she grew from 600 to 3,400 attendees and which produced $3 million in revenue. Prior to her engagement at NSBA, she worked for the American Association of University Women. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Ms. Williams taught junior high school English.

Felicia Wong
Vice President, Product Design & Development
Felicia Wong is responsible for product design and development at Teachscape. A former teacher, Ms. Wong began her tenure at Teachscape in Sales and Business Development. She later ran company operations, and in that position oversaw the company's yearly budget and operating plan. Prior to joining Teachscape, she completed a White House Fellowship and held a political appointment in the Office of the Secretary of the Navy. Ms. Wong has taught at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels. She has an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from UC Berkeley, where she wrote an award-winning dissertation.
