High Yield Instructional Strategies
Based on Robert Marzano's ground-breaking work, and developed in collaboration with Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL), this intensive two-day seminar introduces participants to nine effective instructional strategies that lead to student achievement, and offers guidance on how to use these strategies in teaching practice.

Participants who take High Yield Instructional Strategies will be able to:
- Describe the nine instructional strategies research shows have the greatest impact on student achievement
- Embed these strategies in classroom lessons

SEAL
Using local data and curriculum resources, participants engage in this powerful research-based approach to creating data-driven lesson plans that lead to student achievement. Using state and local standards, participants spend a day and a half examining and analyzing student data, selecting and designing assessments, and applying proven instructional strategies to transform their classrooms into highly engaged learning environments for all students.

Participants who take the SEAL seminar will be able to:
- Apply the SEAL framework (Standards, Examine Data, Assessment, Learning Experiences) to classrooms of diverse learners

- Use valuable tools (e.g., lesson plans, rubrics, and instructional strategies) to design and implement data-driven lessons to help all students succeed

NELLLB
No English Language Learner Left Behind (NELLLB) provides a research-based framework for administrators and teachers to develop the systems, strategies, and methods that enable English Language Learners to succeed academically. The day-and-a-half seminar emphasizes data-driven lesson planning, instructional leadership, contextualized language learning, interdisciplinary and differentiated instruction, higher-order thinking, and parental involvement.

Learner Outcomes
Participants who take the NELLLB seminar will be able to:
- Apply the SEAL framework (Standards, Examine Data, Assessment, Learning Experiences) to English Language Learners
- Develop a plan for parental/community involvement
- Use the tools (e.g., lesson plans, rubrics, and instructional strategies) associated with the NELLLB process to effectively foster language acquisition in English Language Learner (ELL) and Early Language Development (ELD) students
- Design and implement engaging lessons that contain high expectations, clear organization, and effective language acquisition strategies to help move students to English language proficiency
